Steps to Compete

Prompt

Read through the prompt (below) carefully.

Ideate

When coming up with an idea, make sure you have carefully read and considered the official guidelines (below).

Experiment

Get started on your research as soon as possible! Remember to to keep caution with any experiments.

Presentation

Consider how you will present your project in the space provided. A trifold with images, graphs, and captions may be helpful and is highly recommended!

Prompt

You are the STEM advisor for your school board. You are assigned the following task: Design a STEM solution to improve your school environment. Please choose a specific problem, such as classroom technology, stress relief, campus improvement, etc. Assume you have full power and control over your solution (ie unlimited materials). Present your projected conclusions.

Official Guidelines

  1. Project entries may be theoretical or actually designed and executed.

  2. Projects must fit in the space of a tri-fold poster board.

  3. Projects must be present on the day of the event in order to be considered.

  4. Projects may not involve non-human vertebrates.

  5. Projects involving humans may only do so for psychological or behavior studies.

  6. Projects previously submitted for science fair projects will be judged in a separate category.

  7. If researching people under 18 years of age, parental consent is required.

  8. Participants are responsible for any material fees, project set-up, and project clean-up.
